Notes on Gallery
This gallery features Toronto photographs, plus eight more taken on trips within and outside Canada. Most of the Toronto photographs were taken downtown, in East Toronto, or in Kensington Market. I’ve included some photographs here with greater complexity – images that involve many individual elements (10. Canada Day Fair), or with backgrounds (20. Industrial Scene) or foregrounds with a lot of detail (8. Greenhouse). I’ve been thinking about the balance between simplicity and complexity in photography; my default approach tends toward simplicity, but I have been trying to experiment with images with greater complexity.
